Journal #51

May 9, 2021 by Deanna Repose Oaks

100 words for 100 days update: it is going how I expected, I’m “missing” days, but my overall average is still 130 words per day, so I feel like I’m hanging in there even with all that life has thrown at me lately. In other news, I also joined Vocal, so I now have a new forum for my poetry. But, the biggest news is: I attended my first sales event last weekend (hence the missing blog post!). I sold 2 books of poetry to a thin crowd of non-readers. I consider this a BIG win.

I’m continuing to record my poems. Over the last two weeks, I’ve recorded two more poems. One recording will be posted here shortly; the other one, well I think that was more for me than for anyone else.

I am trying my best to celebrate my wins instead of focusing on my losses. It is funny how the change of perspective affects the photograph.
