Journal #17

December 12, 2019 by Deanna Repose Oaks Leave a Comment

I bought a book of 300 writing prompts today. My goal is to write at least 200 words per prompt by the end of 2020. If I can keep myself putting words on the page, maybe, just maybe I will finish the novel that I keep avoiding OR this is just another way for me to keep avoiding it.

The writer in me is looking forward to the challenge, and the thought process of putting words on the page. The critic in me knows that every word is going to suck. The accountant in me knows it is a waste of time which is a waste of money because time is money. The editor in me isn’t looking forward to taking on the extra pages.

The characters running around in my brain are jumping up and down with excitement.

They are looking forward to the new playground.

Let’s see how happy I can make them.
